pedagoginė sociologija statusas T sritis švietimas apibrėžtis Sociologijos disciplina, tirianti aplinkos ir tikslingo ugdymo vaidmenį socialiniame žmogaus gyvenime, socializacijos procese. Pedagoginė sociologija dar vadinama ugdymo (auklėjimo) sociologija. Jos pradininkai – JAV sociologai. Į pedagoginius-sociologinius tyrimus įsitraukia ir kai kurie pedagogai. Pedagoginė sociologija naudojasi tyrimo metodais, būdingais sociologiniams tyrimams. Tiriamieji (respondentai) apklausiami daugiausia anketomis. Pedagoginiai-sociologiniai teoriniai ir empiriniai tyrimai prasidėjo XX a. atitikmenys: angl. educational sociology; pedagogical sociology vok. pädagogische Soziologie rus. педагогическая социология
